Regional carrier Winair has announced a new interline agreement with US-based Contour Airlines aimed at improving travel connections between the Caribbean and Puerto Rico.
The partnership will allow passengers travelling with Contour Airlines to book seamless itineraries that include Winair-operated flights through St. Maarten, further strengthening Princess Juliana International Airport’s role as a regional hub.Under the agreement, travellers across Winair’s Caribbean network will gain easier access to San Juan, Puerto Rico, via St. Maarten.
Winair Chief Executive Officer Hans van de Velde said the deal forms part of the airline’s broader push to expand regional and international connectivity.
“This partnership represents another important milestone in expanding our network reach,” van de Velde said.
“By collaborating with Contour Airlines, we are making it easier for travelers to connect through St. Maarten and explore more destinations within our region.”
Contour Airlines President Ben Munson said the agreement would give the airline’s customers greater access to destinations across the Caribbean.
“Contour passengers will now have the ability to connect onto Winair’s impressive network beyond St. Maarten throughout the Caribbean,” Munson said.
The announcement comes as Contour Airlines continues expanding its presence in the Caribbean following the launch of operations to Princess Juliana International Airport in St Maarten.
Winair said the partnership reflects its continued efforts to strengthen travel links throughout the region and improve passenger convenience.
The airline also announced a new partnership with Avis/Budget, allowing travellers to book rental vehicles directly through Winair’s website as part of their travel arrangements.
