Laurence Fibleuil has been crowned Miss World Martinique 2026 and will represent the French Caribbean island at the 75th Miss World pageant from August 9 to September 5.
The 23-year-old takes over the title from Aurélie Joachim, who made history for Martinique at the last Miss World pageant after securing the Americas and Caribbean continental title and finishing fourth overall — the territory’s best-ever result at the competition.
A business studies graduate who works in audit consulting, Fibleuil has also made her mark in the sporting world as an international para-athlete specialising in sprint events.
Born with a brachial plexus impairment affecting her left arm, Fibleuil has not allowed the disability to define her journey. She has represented resilience both on and off the track, earning recognition for her achievements in sport.
Her accomplishments include being selected as an Olympic Torchbearer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She was also once considered for a pathway towards the Paralympic Games, but chose instead to focus on completing her academic studies.
Now, as Miss World Martinique 2026, Fibleuil hopes to bring her story of determination and perseverance to the international stage while continuing Martinique’s strong showing at Miss World.
She will compete alongside representatives from around the world at the 75th anniversary edition of Miss World in Vietnam.
