Defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) have confirmed their five overseas players for the 2026 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as they prepare to defend their title.
The overseas contingent features Alex Hales, Usman Tariq, Colin Munro, Matthew Breetzke and Amshi de Silva, combining experienced T20 campaigners with emerging international talent.
England opener Alex Hales returns after finishing among the tournament’s leading run-scorers last season.
A member of England’s 2022 T20 World Cup-winning team, Hales has built a reputation as one of the most destructive batters in franchise cricket.
Pakistan off-spinner Usman Tariq is also back after playing a key role in TKR’s championship-winning campaign, finishing as the team’s leading wicket-taker.
He made his T20 international debut against South Africa in November 2025.
New Zealand’s Colin Munro will begin his ninth season with the franchise. The left-hander remains the highest-scoring overseas player in CPL history and has been a mainstay of the Knight Riders’ batting line-up for more than a decade.
South African batter Matthew Breetzke joins the squad after making headlines with a record-breaking 150 on his ODI debut against New Zealand.
He also featured for the Lucknow Super Giants during the 2025 Indian Premier League.
Completing the overseas roster is Sri Lankan batting all-rounder Amshi de Silva, who progressed through Sri Lanka’s youth system, represented the country at the Under-19 World Cup and has since played for Sri Lanka A.
The overseas group will join a strong West Indies core led by captain Nicholas Pooran, alongside Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein, while Dwayne Bravo returns for his second season as head coach as TKR target back-to-back CPL titles.
