A fire

British Virgin Islands Police Force has launched an investigation into a fire at Lower Estate that decimated a commercial fleet, leaving nearly 20 vehicles and pieces of heavy machinery destroyed.

Initial reports indicate the blaze broke out during the late hours of January 19 into January 20. While fire crews and officers managed to save several safari buses from the flames, the scale of the damage was extensive.

According to police, the fire destroyed 14 safari buses, two coaster buses, one small van, and an excavator. Despite the intensity of the blaze and the significant property loss, authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Detectives at the scene were unable to immediately determine what sparked the fire.

While the cause remains unknown, police officials stated the investigation is active and they are currently exploring “all possibilities.”
