West Indies kept their semi-final hopes alive after securing a 25-run win over Ireland by the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern (DLS) method in a rain-affected contest.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, West Indies struggled early as Ireland’s bowlers struck regularly to leave them 67 for three inside the first 16 overs. The innings was steadied by Jewel Andrew, who anchored the recovery with a patient 66 off 82 balls. Jonathan van Lange provided support with a handy 28 as the pair rebuilt the innings.

Andrew was dismissed in the 33rd over, but late contributions from Aadian Racha helped push West Indies past the 200-run mark. The innings eventually ended at 226 all out in 46.5 overs.

Ireland began their chase positively, led by James West, whose brisk 45 from 55 balls set a solid platform. Freddie Ogilby (14), Adam Leckey (18) and Robert O’Brien (26) all made starts but failed to convert them into substantial scores, allowing West Indies back into the match.

Micah McKenzie proved decisive with the ball, tearing through Ireland’s middle order to finish with four wickets. At 164 for seven after 40 overs, Ireland needed 62 runs from the final 10 overs when rain interrupted play. With conditions preventing a restart, the match was decided using the DLS method, handing West Indies a 25-run victory.

The result keeps West Indies in contention for a semi-final berth ahead of their clash with Australia on Wednesday. Ireland will wrap up their campaign against Afghanistan on Friday.
