Officials from InterCaribbean Airways have met with representatives of Trinidad and Tobago’s government ahead of the airline’s inaugural flight to the country.

In a statement, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation said Eli Zakour, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, held talks with Trevor Sadler, Chief Executive Officer of InterCaribbean Airways, and Cary Price, Director General of the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority.

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation said Minister Eli Zakour and officials from the ministry met with InterCaribbean Airways Chief Executive Officer Trevor Sadler at the ministry’s headquarters in Port of Spain on January 28, ahead of the airline’s inaugural service to Trinidad and Tobago.

The ministry said Zakour described the commencement of InterCaribbean Airways’ services to Trinidad and Tobago as an important milestone, noting that the new route strengthens regional linkages and supports tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.

He also emphasised that the service will benefit both business and leisure travel and reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding airlift and reinforcing regional integration.

The ministry added that it will continue to engage with InterCaribbean Airways and key stakeholders to facilitate the successful introduction of the service, while advancing Trinidad and Tobago’s connectivity with the wider Caribbean.

InterCaribbean Airways’ inaugural flight from Barbados is set to begin on March 9, 2026.

The non-stop service is expected to operate four times weekly between Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados and Piarco International Airport in Trinidad.
