Dominica has expressed concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East, warning that recent developments have heightened insecurity across the wider Gulf region.

In a statement issued on March 04, the government underscored the need for calm, restraint and responsible leadership, stressing that even serious disputes must be addressed through dialogue, diplomacy and full respect for international law.

Dominica said it is particularly troubled by actions that threaten the sovereignty and security of countries in the Gulf, place civilian lives at risk and further destabilise an already fragile region.

It cautioned that any widening of the conflict would deepen uncertainty, intensify suffering and reduce prospects for peace.

The government called on all parties to refrain from steps that could inflame tensions and to recommit to peaceful engagement, noting that the protection of civilians, respect for territorial integrity and preservation of regional stability must remain priorities.

Dominica also commended the leadership demonstrated by the governments of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain, and voiced support for international and regional efforts aimed at de-escalation, humanitarian relief and achieving a lasting peace.

The statement concluded by expressing solidarity with those affected by the crisis and urging renewed commitment to stability, dialogue and hope for the region and the wider international community.
