Voters in Antigua and Barbuda will go to the polls on April 30 to elect a new government.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne revealed the date on April 7 as the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) launched its election campaign at the party’s headquarters, the People’s Place on Nugent Avenue, St John’s.

Governor General Rodney Williams has issued the writs of election, with nomination day set for April 13.

At the time Parliament was dissolved last month, Browne’s party held 11 seats, and he is now aiming for a clean sweep of all 17 constituencies.

He also urged supporters to ensure they are properly registered and to turn out in large numbers on election day.
