St Kitts and Nevis will make a contribution to regional  humanitarian efforts to assist Cuba.

Speaking on Freedom FM’s Issues programme on March 17, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew said the move reflects the Federation’s commitment to regional solidarity and collective action through the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

“The Cuba matter, I want to say that CARICOM was here, and we took the decision to support Cuba from a humanitarian standpoint,” he said.

Drew revealed that St Kitts and Nevis has already established the necessary framework in collaboration with regional and international partners.

He added that within the next two weeks, the Federation will make its first major humanitarian contribution to Cuba.

Drew said the initiative underscores St Kitts and Nevis’ long-standing dedication to humanitarian values, regional cooperation, and mutual support among Caribbean nations.

He also highlighted ongoing partnerships with Cuban professionals working in the Federation, noting that systems are in place to ensure transparency and compliance with international standards.
