After nearly 20 years on the run, a man wanted for a string of serious offences, including attempted murder, has been arrested by officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
The 44-year-old suspect, a resident of Siparia, was held during a targeted police operation at a gas station compound along Royal Road, San Fernando, around 7:15 am on April 13.
According to police, officers Samaroo, Cooper and Archibald, who were on mobile patrol, acted on intelligence received from Cpl Madhoo of the Court and Process Branch before moving in on the location.
The suspect was arrested on 17 outstanding warrants issued in 2006.
These relate to a series of serious offences, including attempted murder, possession of a firearm and ammunition, and other firearm-related matters.
The TTPS said the arrest forms part of its ongoing efforts to locate and detain individuals wanted for serious crimes.
Authorities are also urging members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by providing information that may assist in ongoing investigations.
