The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) has signed a new gas supply agreement with EOG Resources Trinidad Limited, in a move aimed at strengthening Trinidad and Tobago’s natural gas value chain and supporting stability across the energy sector.

The agreement was formalised on Friday at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad.NGC said the deal was concluded eight months ahead of schedule, highlighting what it described as the efficiency of the negotiation process and the strength of its longstanding relationship with EOG.

The state energy company noted that the partnership, built over years of collaboration, is grounded in mutual trust and a shared recognition of the critical role natural gas plays in Trinidad and Tobago’s economy.

It also pointed to EOG’s continued investment as a signal of confidence in the country’s energy sector, particularly within the current global energy landscape.

Acting President of NGC, Edmund Subryan, said the agreement represents continued progress in securing reliable gas supplies.

“NGC continues to make meaningful progress in our unwavering pursuit of supply stability for our customers and increased value for the people of Trinidad and Tobago,” he said, noting that several key projects and negotiations are advancing with the support of the company’s board and line ministry.

Chairman Gerald Ramdeen described the agreement as a reflection of sustained collaboration and a shared commitment to national development.

“The execution of this contract—particularly ahead of schedule—signals continued investor confidence in Trinidad and Tobago’s energy sector and demonstrates NGC’s role in translating that confidence into sustainable, long-term value for the country,” he said.

NGC added that the agreement positions both companies to continue working together to unlock further value within the energy sector as Trinidad and Tobago seeks to maintain its role as a key natural gas producer in the Caribbean
