King Young Destroyer has been crowned the 2026 Cavalier Rum Calypso Monarch in Antigua and Barbuda, dethroning reigning champion Ge’Eve.

Official results released by the Antigua Carnival Commission following Friday night’s competition saw Dr. Solo claim the first runner-up spot, while Lyrical Reds finished second runner-up.

In the special awards, Dr. Solo received the Philbert Mason Award for Best Social Commentary, while Melypnostick won the Most Humorous Award for the song Tek De Money. Dr. Paul was presented with the Most Improved Award.

Congratulating the performers, the Antigua Carnival Commission praised the high standard of this year’s competition.

“Congratulations to all the calypsonians who graced the stage and kept the spirit of calypso alive with powerful performances and lyrical excellence. Thank you for making the 2026 Cavalier Rum Calypso Monarch another unforgettable night of Antigua Carnival!” the commission said.
