BRIDGETOWN, Barbados — Tamarind, Barbados, an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, has reopened following an extensive transformation that has given the oceanfront property a new look while completing a multi-million-dollar renovation of Marriott International’s seven-resort Barbados Collection.

Located on Barbados’ Platinum West Coast, the resort now features 111 refreshed guestrooms and suites, redesigned public spaces, new culinary experiences and programming focused on Barbadian culture.

Tamarind has traditionally been known as a family-friendly resort, and its redesigned facilities include multiple swimming pools, beachfront areas, motorised and non-motorised water sports, wellness offerings and experiences designed to connect guests with the island.

The resort’s dining options include Sugar Cane Restaurant, Harvest and Hive, 246 Bar & Restaurant and Sugar Shack. 

It will also be home to Caribbean Restaurant, described by the company as the island’s first air-conditioned restaurant dedicated exclusively to authentic Barbadian cuisine.

Guests can also take part in cultural experiences including rum tastings, soca dance lessons and cooking classes featuring traditional Bajan fish cakes.

For younger guests, Tamarind has introduced CAMP Club, an indoor and outdoor space created in partnership with CAMP and Marriott Bonvoy. Activities include local arts and crafts, music, storytelling and interactive adventures inspired by Barbados.

The reopening completes the transformation of the Barbados Collection, which includes seven properties that have undergone renovations and brand changes over the past two years.

Waves Resort and Spa, Treasure Beach, The House and Tamarind have joined the Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resorts portfolio, while Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach are now Tribute Portfolio All-Inclusive Resorts. Colony Club has also reopened as Barbados’ first property under The Luxury Collection.

The portfolio transformation also includes the Barbados Collection’s Lifestyle Stretch, a series of West Coast experiences spanning The House, Treasure Beach and Tamarind. The offering has been expanded with the introduction of Sandtrap Beach Club, a new beachfront destination.

Guests staying at Tamarind can also access the Barbados Collection’s Dine Around Program, which provides access to culinary offerings at participating sister properties.

The resort also caters to weddings, meetings and other events, with two indoor event spaces and outdoor venues capable of accommodating up to 400 guests.
