St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew returned home from the United States yesterday after receiving treatment for a stroke.
Drew was welcomed by a large group of supporters as he arrived at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.
Leading the welcome was Acting Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley, alongside members of the Cabinet and other officials.
Drew was medically cleared to resume his duties last week and travelled to Washington, DC, for a meeting between US and Caribbean leaders and representatives.
The St Kitts and Nevis Information Service reported that Drew expressed profound gratitude to the people of St Kitts and Nevis for their prayers, encouragement and unwavering support throughout his illness and recovery.
He also extended his sincere appreciation to members of the Federal Cabinet for their leadership and for ensuring the continued smooth and effective operation of the Government in his absence.
The Government plans to host a free evening of praise, prayer and thanksgiving on October 25 at National Heroes Park.
