Chloé Deher has been crowned the new Miss Universe Guadeloupe.

She won the title on Saturday in a competition that featured five contestants.

Deher succeeds Ophely Mezino, who was absent from the event. Mezino, who finished in the Top 12 at last year’s Miss Universe competition in Thailand, later claimed she was not invited to the coronation gala.

Deher is no stranger to the pageant world. She previously represented Guadeloupe at the Miss France 2014 competition, where she placed fourth runner-up behind eventual winner Flora Coquerel.

The 75th edition of the Miss Universe competition is scheduled to take place later this year in Puerto Rico.
