Chair of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Dr Terrance Drew will make an official visit to Trinidad and Tobago this week to meet with Prime Minister, Kamla Persad- Bissessar and members of her team.

The Chair will be accompanied by CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr Carla Barnett.

The meeting is part of the Chair’s focus on face-to-face discussions with regional leaders.

The Chair and Secretary-General met with the new Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Godwin Friday, in Kingstown last week.

Since last year, Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar has been highly critical of CARICOM as she defended T&T’s foreign policy with regard to the US military action in the Region in relation to Venezuela.
