Bermuda has recorded its first road fatality of 2026 following the death of 51-year-old Adam Tavares.
Police confirmed that Tavares died as a result of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred around 5:20 pm on January 22 at the junction of Loyal Hill and North Shore Road in Devonshire.
According to the Bermuda Police Service (BPS), investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are continuing.
In a statement, police said Tavares’ family expressed gratitude to members of the public who stopped to assist at the scene following the crash.
The BPS also extended condolences to his relatives and friends, noting that a Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support the family as inquiries continue.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have information that could assist the investigation, to come forward.
