A 54-year-old man has become the latest homicide victim in the United States Virgin Islands.

The Virgin Islands Police Department reported receiving calls around 8:17 am on February 12 about a man lying on a roadway and bleeding from his upper body in the Scott Free area of St Thomas.

Officers responded to the report and found Saint Hubert Joseph unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned to the scene, where Joseph was pronounced dead.

Police said the killing marks the territory’s fourth homicide for 2026 and the first recorded on St Thomas this year.
