Gun violence has claimed three more lives in the US Virgin Islands, with separate shootings on June 16 pushing the territory’s 2026 homicide count to 22.

On St Croix, 20-year-old Amani Daley was found dead in a forested area of the Profit Hills community at approximately 7:53 pm.

According to the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD), officers were dispatched to the area after receiving a report from a concerned citizen about a body. 

Upon arrival, police discovered Daley suffering from gunshot wounds.

On St Thomas, police responded to two separate shooting incidents within hours of each other.

At approximately 3:40 pm, officers and emergency personnel were called to the Hospital Ground area, where they found 23-year-old Asani Henry unresponsive with multiple injuries. 

He was later pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Technicians.

Later that evening, at about 6:29 pm, police received reports of gunshots in the Sanchez Town area. Officers who responded discovered 55-year-old Fitzroy Wattley, who had sustained fatal injuries.

All three incidents remain under investigation, and police are urging anyone with information to contact the department or Crime Stoppers VI.
