Anguilla has recorded its highest number of tourist arrivals in more than three decades, with new data showing the island welcomed 229,734 visitors in 2025.
Figures released by the Anguilla Tourist Board indicate the total represents an 11.2 per cent increase compared with 2024 and marks the destination’s strongest performance in 33 years.
Stay-over arrivals rose 2.9 per cent to 114,965 visitors, while excursionist arrivals surged 34.8 per cent to 114,769.
December emerged as the best-performing month, attracting nearly 30,000 visitors. January and February followed closely behind, each recording just under 25,000 arrivals. The slowest periods were September and October, when visitor numbers fell below 10,000.
Tourism growth during 2025 was supported by expanded airlift, including new services launched by BermudAir’s subsidiary, AnguillaAir.
The carrier introduced flights from Boston Logan International Airport and Baltimore/Washington International Airport to Clayton J Lloyd International Airport.
The Boston service operates twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing Boston at 10:05 am and returning from Anguilla at 4:10 pm. The Baltimore route also runs twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, departing at 10:25 am and returning at 4:25 pm. Both routes are scheduled to continue through April.
Passenger experience was also enhanced with the official opening of a new multi-million-dollar terminal at Clayton J Lloyd International Airport on December 15, 2025.
Minister of Tourism Cardigan Connor praised stakeholders across the sector for contributing to the milestone.
“This milestone belongs to the people of Anguilla; our tourism investors and stakeholders, industry partners, hospitality partners, public and private sectors and community partners—whose dedication continues to set our destination apart. We remain focused on building on this momentum underscoring the resilience and appeal of Anguilla as a premier destination,” Connor said.
Chair of the Anguilla Tourist Board Amelia Vanterpool-Kubisch said the results highlight the impact of collaborative industry efforts.
“The Anguilla Tourist Board is proud of the destination’s performance in 2025, culminating in a strong performance in December that reflects the collaborative efforts of our tourism partners and stakeholders in delivering memorable experiences for our visitors. These outcomes reflect sustained strategic focus, strong market confidence, and the value of close partnership and collaboration,” she said.
Director of Tourism Jameel Rochester said maintaining service quality and sustainable growth remains a priority.
“While we celebrate these results, our focus remains firmly on our people, our product, and the long-term prosperity of Anguilla. Protecting the integrity of the Anguilla brand means delivering an exceptional visitor experience, supporting our tourism partners, and ensuring that growth is balanced, sustainable, and benefits our communities. This record December is not only a milestone, but a call to continue raising standards and creating shared value for Anguilla and its people,” Rochester said.
