Dominica’s tourism sector recorded strong growth in 2025, with increases across all major categories, according to figures released by the Ministry of Tourism.

Total passenger arrivals reached 488,091 in 2025 — a 13 per cent increase over 2024 and 49 per cent higher than 2019 levels.

Cruise arrivals accounted for 375,646 passengers, representing a 12 per cent rise and the highest figure recorded since 2011.

Stay-over arrivals also climbed to record levels. 

The ministry reported 112,195 stay-over visitors in 2025, including yacht arrivals — an 18 per cent increase over 2024 and the highest total on record.

Of that figure, 98,734 were pure stay-over arrivals, marking an 18 per cent rise year-on-year and placing arrivals 10 per cent above pre-pandemic levels.

December was particularly strong, with stay-over arrivals increasing by 20 per cent compared with the same period in 2024.

The ministry attributed the sustained growth to major national investments, including the construction of an international airport, marina development and a cruise village, which are driving tourism’s contribution towards the EC$1 billion mark.

Direct visitor spending in 2025 was estimated at EC$405.5 million, supporting sectors such as transport, agriculture, construction, services and small businesses across the economy.
