Dwight Yorke

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) has confirmed that the contract of Men’s Senior National Team Head Coach Dwight Yorke has been terminated by mutual agreement.

In a statement, the TTFA said the decision took effect on February 28 following the conclusion of the team’s recent FIFA World Cup qualification campaign, in which Trinidad and Tobago failed to advance to the 2026 World Cup.

According to the association, its executive committee conducted a comprehensive review of the campaign and the overall direction of the Men’s Senior National Team programme, including its technical structure and financial framework.

Subsequent discussions were held between the TTFA and Yorke regarding the future of the role, including revised contractual terms and remuneration aligned with the next phase of the programme.

However, both parties were unable to reach agreement on the proposed terms, and it was mutually decided to part ways.

The TTFA said it maintains a professional and respectful relationship with Yorke and noted that the door is not closed to future dialogue.

The association also thanked Yorke for his service and contribution to the Men’s Senior National Team and acknowledged his commitment during his tenure.

The TTFA said it will, in due course, announce the appointment of a head coach to lead the team in preparation for the upcoming international friendly against Bolivia on March 15, as well as participation in the FIFA Series to be held in Uzbekistan.

The association said it remains committed to strengthening the Men’s Senior National Team programme as it transitions into its next phase and will continue to act in the best interests of Trinidad and Tobago football.
