A 43-year-old man has become the latest murder victim in Barbados following a shooting in Cave Hill, St Michael on March 9.

Police said officers at Operations Control received a report around 10:40 am of a shooting along Hill View Close in the Cave Hill area.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was sitting outside a residence with several other people when a brown motor vehicle approached. Two individuals reportedly exited the vehicle and discharged several gunshots, striking the victim.

The injured man was transported by private motor car to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said the deceased was identified by a relative as Cheyne Hurley of Bristol Road, Cave Hill, St Michael.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
