Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly suffered a head injury during an alleged prison fight with Christopher “Dudus” Coke, the notorious Jamaican drug lord and former leader of the Shower Posse, according to US media reports.
Entertainment publication TMZ reported that the alleged altercation took place on October 10 while Combs, 56, was taking his daily break at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he is reportedly being held in solitary confinement.
According to TMZ, the confrontation stemmed from anger among inmates after prison officials seized contraband, including cellphones, following an NBC News report about Combs’ reported living conditions behind bars.
NBC News reported that Combs had received preferential treatment in prison, allegedly enjoying access to cellphones and premium liquor, including Hennessy.
The report also alleged that several inmates were paid to prepare special meals for Combs, clean the toilet and shower areas before he used them, do his laundry, make his bed and provide Chinese-style massages.
Coke, who was sentenced in 2012 to 23 years in federal prison for racketeering conspiracy and assault, was reportedly among the inmates whose cellphones were seized.
TMZ reported that both men were subsequently placed in solitary confinement.
