JetBlue Vacations has introduced a new “Great Weather Guarantee” for travellers booking vacation packages to Jamaica, offering customers $500 back if rainfall exceeds expected levels during their trip.
The airline vacation brand announced the initiative in partnership with Jamaica Tourist Board and weather technology company WeatherPromise.
Under the programme, eligible Jamaica Flight + Hotel packages booked between March 1 and May 31, 2026 will automatically include the weather guarantee at no additional cost.
The initiative allows travellers to receive a $500 payout if rainfall during their stay exceeds a specific threshold calculated for each trip. Weather conditions will be monitored using data analytics, satellite imagery and radar technology.
Customers will receive a personalised dashboard after booking, outlining the weather conditions required to trigger the payout and allowing them to choose how they would like to receive the funds if the threshold is exceeded.
JetBlue Vacations said the programme marks the first time an airline vacation provider has integrated a destination-based weather guarantee directly into a travel package.
The guarantee applies to Jamaica vacation packages ranging from three to 16 nights and covers travel through December 1, 2026. Trips must begin at least seven days after booking to qualify.
President of Paisly, the company that powers JetBlue Vacations, Jamie Perry said the initiative is designed to make travel planning easier for customers.
“We were proud to be WeatherPromise’s first airline vacation partner last year, and with this Jamaica-specific guarantee, we’re continuing to lead the industry. Customers can book knowing that if the weather doesn’t meet expectations, they’re covered,” Perry said.
Jamaica’s Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett said the initiative will help visitors plan their trips with greater confidence.
“The Great Weather Guarantee allows travellers to fully embrace everything our island has to offer with added confidence,” Bartlett said, noting that the programme supports efforts to enhance the visitor experience across the island.
JetBlue Vacations also announced a limited-time spring promotion offering up to $500 off Flight + Hotel packages across its network, including trips to Jamaica.
