A 38-year-old man was stabbed to death in Antigua and Barbuda during the early hours of March 16.

Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased, but said he was a resident of Glanvilles.

State broadcaster ABS Television/Radio reported that the man had gone to the home of his girlfriend in Newfield, where an altercation occurred involving one of her relatives.

According to the report, the woman claimed the man attempted to assault her. She reportedly armed herself with a sharp implement and stabbed him.

The man fled the scene but was later found dead by police at Lion’s Estate.

In a statement, the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda appealed to members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist investigators.
