Team Jamaica opened its campaign at the 2026 World Indoor Championships in Poland with two silver medals.
In the men’s 60 metres final, Kishane Thompson clocked an impressive 6.45 seconds to finish second behind American Jordan Anthony, who won in a world-leading 6.41 seconds.
Fellow American Trayvon Bromell, a former champion, also clocked 6.45 seconds to take third place, while defending champion Jeremiah Azu of Great Britain finished just behind in 6.46 seconds.
Jamaica’s Bryan Levell placed seventh in the final.
Levell, who won bronze in the 200 metres at the 2025 World Championships, recorded a time of 7.69 seconds.
In the men’s triple jump, Jordan Scott created history by securing Jamaica’s first-ever medal in the event at the World Indoor Championships.
Scott produced a best jump of 17.33 metres to claim silver behind defending champion Andy Hernandez of Italy.
