Bahamian Devynne Charlton retained her World Indoor 60m hurdles title in blistering fashion, equalling her world and championship record.
This is her third successive title.
Charlton had been unbeaten all season heading into the event.
She won in 7.65 seconds to secure The Bahamas’ first medal of the championships.
Nadine Visser of the Netherlands finished second, also clocking a season’s best 7.65 seconds.
Third place went to Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska, who also recorded 7.65 seconds but was narrowly out-dipped by Visser.
Also competing from the Caribbean was Jamaica’s Megan Simmonds, who finished fifth in 7.82 seconds, equalling her personal best, and Bahamian Denisha Cartwright, who clocked 7.90 seconds, also matching her season’s best.
