A 67-year-old businessman was shot dead in St Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday night.

The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said the incident occurred around 9:50 pm on March 20 in Diamond, where Winston Williams was inside his shop.

Preliminary investigations indicate that two masked men approached Williams, one of whom was armed with a firearm, and opened fire, shooting him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Officers responded to reports of the shooting and found Williams in a room with multiple gunshot wounds about his body.

A district medical officer later visited the scene and pronounced him dead.

Police said a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigations into the killing are ongoing.
