A 30-year-old labourer was shot dead in Rockies, St Vincent and the Grenadines, on Thursday night.

The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the area at about 8:05 pm on August 6.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found Akeem Ferdinand, a labourer of Rockies, with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

A medical practitioner later attended the scene and pronounced Ferdinand dead.

Police said a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting are ongoing.
