The Anguilla Tourist Board said it used this year’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace to strengthen partnerships, showcase the destination’s luxury appeal and explore new opportunities for growth in the tourism sector.

Anguilla was among several Caribbean destinations participating in the 44th Annual Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) Caribbean Travel Marketplace, held in Antigua and Barbuda from May 12–15.

The event brought together tourism officials, travel advisors, tour operators, wholesalers, media and other industry stakeholders from across the region and internationally.

Representing Anguilla at the event were Minister of Health, Sports and Tourism Cardigan Connor; Deputy Director of Tourism Chantelle Richardson; Chief Marketing Officer Kendisha Hall-Prentice; President of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association Will Fleming; and Chief Executive Officer of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association Cherecia Lewis.

Connor said Anguilla’s participation reflected the island’s commitment to keeping its tourism industry competitive and sustainable.

“Anguilla’s presence at Caribbean Travel Marketplace underscores our commitment to strengthening meaningful partnerships, expanding our global reach, and ensuring that our tourism industry remains competitive, resilient, and positioned for sustainable growth,” he said.

During the four-day event, the delegation met with travel trade partners and participated in discussions aimed at boosting destination visibility, strengthening travel advisor relationships and identifying new business opportunities for the island.

A major talking point during the conference was the release of the 2026 Caribbean Travel Trends Report by CHTA and Amadeus.

The report ranked Anguilla among the Caribbean’s leading luxury destinations, giving the island one of the region’s highest Premium/Luxury Index scores at 3.3.

Only Saint Barthélemy and Bermuda were also highlighted among the top luxury markets.

Tourism officials said the ranking reflects Anguilla’s continued appeal among high-end travellers seeking personalised experiences, upscale accommodations, fine dining and authentic island experiences.

Richardson described Caribbean Travel Marketplace as an important opportunity to connect directly with key travel industry partners and media representatives.

“Caribbean Travel Marketplace provides an invaluable opportunity for Anguilla to connect directly with the travel trade, tour operators and media, to reinforce our luxury positioning, and translate market interest into tangible opportunities for the destination and our tourism stakeholders,” she said.

The Anguilla Tourist Board also used the event to share updates on the destination’s tourism performance, airlift expansion, marketing campaigns and upcoming visitor experiences as it continues efforts to strengthen confidence in the destination and grow visitor arrivals.
