Grenada’s Ministry of Education says it is working to resolve outstanding salary issues affecting a number of teachers and expects additional payments to be made later this month.
In a statement issued on June 5, the ministry acknowledged concerns raised over delayed and partial salary payments and confirmed that it had received a list from the Grenada Union of Teachers identifying 17 educators affected between September 2025 and April 2026.
According to the ministry, all of the teachers on the list are currently receiving their regular salaries and efforts have been underway to address the outstanding payments owed to them.
The ministry said most of the cases have already been resolved, while the remaining matters are actively being addressed.
The ministry indicated that additional payments are expected to be processed during the June payroll cycle, which should help clear the outstanding balances for the remaining teachers.
“The Ministry takes matters affecting the timely payment of teachers seriously,” the statement said.
It added that every effort is being made to ensure all legitimate outstanding payments are settled as quickly as possible.
