A 16-year-old boy is among 11 males the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is seeking preventive detention orders against following an anti-crime operation in southern Trinidad.

The suspects, whose ages range from 16 to 34, were arrested during an operation carried out in the Gasparillo district between June 6 and June 15, 2026.

Police said the operation was launched to curb and detect an increase in reports of home invasions, robberies, firearm-related offences, break-ins and drug-related offences in the district.

The suspects are from the southern communities of Gasparillo, Golconda, Point Fortin and Williamsville.

Police did not disclose the specific allegations against each individual but said the preventive detention applications form part of ongoing efforts to address crime in the area.
