The fifth AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2026), which was scheduled to be held in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, has been postponed due to evolving public health concerns in parts of Africa.
The decision was announced jointly by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
In a statement, the organisers said the move followed the latest guidance from regional, continental and international public health authorities.
They said postponing the event, which was scheduled to take place from July 29 to 31, was the most responsible course of action to safeguard the health and well-being of delegates, speakers, sponsors, partners and other participants.
The forum was expected to bring together government leaders, investors, businesses and development partners from Africa and the Caribbean to strengthen trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two regions.
Afreximbank and the St Kitts and Nevis government acknowledged the strong support shown by stakeholders in the lead-up to the event and said the decision was not made lightly.
They also apologised for any inconvenience caused by the postponement.
A new date for ACTIF2026 has not yet been announced.
Organisers said further updates will be provided through the official channels of Afreximbank and the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
