The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have confirmed their five overseas signings for the 2026 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as the franchise looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the title.
The overseas contingent features Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah, former Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka, Afghanistan left-arm wrist-spinner Waqar Salamkheil, Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga and Australia all-rounder Nikhil Chaudhary.
The group combines international experience with proven T20 performers, giving the Patriots added depth in both their bowling and batting departments.
Naseem Shah will spearhead the pace attack after establishing himself as one of Pakistan’s leading fast bowlers across all formats.
Shanaka brings leadership and all-round ability, offering power in the middle order as well as another seam-bowling option.
The Patriots have also bolstered their spin attack with Salamkheil, whose left-arm wrist spin has made him a sought-after player in franchise leagues around the world, and Hasaranga, one of the game’s leading T20 leg-spinning all-rounders.
Completing the overseas roster is Chaudhary, the batting all-rounder who became the first India-born male cricketer in 60 years to represent Australia at international level after progressing through the Australian domestic system.
The overseas players will join a West Indies core that includes Jason Holder, Johnson Charles, Kyle Mayers and Andre Fletcher for the upcoming CPL season.
