HAMILTON, Bermuda — The Bermudian nationals believed to have died when the air ambulance they were travelling in from Bermuda to Boston crashed on October 3 have been identified as 66-year-old Marilyn Lavonne Bean and her 41-year-old son, Sergio Wayne Lottimore.
The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) revealed their identities in a media release on October 5.
The news comes after the US Coast Guard (USCG) announced that it had suspended its search for Bean, Lottimore and the four Canadian crew members, after it and partner agency assets searched 4,445 square miles over approximately 66 hours.
The aircraft involved was a Gulfstream G100 jet, registered as C-GRJP. The aircraft departed LF Wade International Airport in Bermuda at approximately 12:41 am on October 3.
While no bodies have been recovered, debris from the aircraft was found on October 3, roughly 20 miles south of Nantucket, Massachusetts.
The BPS said an investigation into the incident is being conducted by the US National Transportation Safety Board, in conjunction with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
The BPS has appointed a Family Liaison Officer to assist the relatives of Bean and Lottimore during this difficult time.
