Police in Bermuda have launched an investigation following a fatal motorcycle crash which claimed the life of a female passenger on February 14.

According to the Bermuda Police Service, officers and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle around 7:44 pm along Kindley Field Road, just before Stone Crusher Corner in St George’s.

Initial reports indicated that the male rider lost control of the motorcycle, which left the roadway and ended up in nearby water. Authorities were also informed that a pillion passenger may have been thrown into the water.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers began searching the shoreline and discovered the female passenger unresponsive in the water. 

The rider was found conscious and alert, lying on the roadside.

Police said officers immediately began life-saving measures after removing the woman from the water. She was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The incident marks the territory’s third road traffic fatality for 2026.
