A 19-year-old man has become Bermuda’s latest road fatality following a motorcycle crash in Smith’s.

The Bermuda Police Service said the teen was riding a motorcycle around 12:30 pm February 2, travelling east along Verdmont Road, when he lost control of the bike on approaching the junction with St Mark’s Road.

The motorcycle entered the path of a water truck that was travelling in the opposite direction.

Police and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and found the young man unresponsive with life-threatening injuries.

“Life-saving measures were immediately commenced and continued while the victim was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital,” the police said.

The teenager, whose identity has not been released, was later pronounced dead.

This is Bermuda’s second road fatality for 2026.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
