Two teenagers accused in separate murder cases were remanded to the Barbados Prison Service (Dodds) after appearing in court on January 2.
Malik Isiah Blackman, 16, and Adae Xavier Scott, 17, arrived together in the same police transport vehicle for their appearance at the District ‘A’ Traffic Court in Bridgetown. They were escorted into the court compound by police.
The teens, who are from different areas of St Michael, appeared before Magistrate Alison Burke. They were not required to plead to the indictable offences.
Blackman has been charged with the murder of Andy Rudolph Arthur, who was killed on December 21, 2025, following an altercation outside a business establishment along Third Avenue, Station Hill, St Michael.
Scott was charged with the murder of Timothy Trotman, who was killed on December 22, 2025. Trotman, 50, was stabbed to death during an altercation with a group of young men. His death marked the country’s 46th homicide for the year.
Both teenagers are scheduled to reappear in court on January 30.
