A 16-year-old boy has become St Lucia’s first murder victim for 2026.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force said Omar Joseph was fatally stabbed during an incident along Darling Road, Castries, shortly before 1 am on January 3.

Joseph, a resident of Marisule, Gros Islet, was transported to the Owen King EU Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
