A post-mortem examination has confirmed that the death of 69-year-old Earol Richards of Park Hill was a murder, marking St Vincent and the Grenadines’ first homicide of 2026.

According to the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) statement, Richards’ partially decomposed body was discovered in an abandoned house in Park Hill on January 7.

Police said a post-mortem conducted on January 9, found Richards died as a result of multiple chop wounds and decapitation.

Richards was a farmer and a resident of Park Hill.

Police said investigations into the killing are ongoing and have appealed to members of the public for information that could assist with the case.

The RSVGPF has also extended condolences to the family and loved ones of Richards.
