The Turks and Caicos Islands is set to strengthen its air connections with Canada after Porter Airlines announced new non-stop service from Toronto and Ottawa to Providenciales.
The new routes will connect Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) with Howard Hamilton International Airport in Providenciales (PLS) five times weekly from November 6, 2026.
A second service from Ottawa International Airport (YOW) will begin on December 17, 2026, operating twice weekly.
Tourism officials said the expanded airlift comes as Canada continues to grow as one of the Turks and Caicos Islands’ key visitor markets, with the new flights expected to increase arrivals during the winter travel season.
The service forms part of Porter Airlines’ expanding winter sun programme and is expected to provide Canadian travellers with more options when visiting the Caribbean destination.
Minister of Tourism Zhavargo Jolly welcomed the announcement, saying the new flights reflect growing demand from the Canadian market.
“Canada has become one of our most valuable tourism markets, and the addition of Porter Airlines service from both Toronto and Ottawa represents a significant investment in the future of the Turks and Caicos Islands,” Jolly said.
He said recent efforts by Experience Turks and Caicos, including travel advisor training, tour operator engagement and marketing initiatives in Canada, have contributed to increased awareness and visitor growth.
Minister with responsibility for Aviation and the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority Arlington Musgrove said the new routes highlight the importance of expanding air connectivity to support tourism and economic development.
“Enhanced air connectivity remains one of the most important drivers of tourism growth and economic development,” Musgrove said.
The new flights will be operated using Porter Airlines’ Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which features 132 seats and the airline’s elevated economy experience.
The Turks and Caicos Islands continues to attract Canadian travellers with its beaches, luxury accommodations, culinary offerings and marine experiences.
The Toronto–Providenciales route will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while the Ottawa–Providenciales route will operate on Thursdays and Sundays.
