Police in St Kitts and Nevis are investigating the suspected drowning of a female tourist on January 30.

Authorities said the 68-year-old woman, who was a passenger aboard a visiting cruise ship, was swimming at Friars Bay when she reportedly encountered difficulties.

She was later transported to the Joseph N France General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, as investigations continue.
