The squads for the 2026 edition of the Caribbean Premier League have begun taking shape following the completion of the Republic Bank CPL draft, with franchises confirming their regional player selections ahead of the tournament’s August start.

The 2026 CPL season will run from August 7 to September 20, with overseas player signings expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Among the headline moves, the Barbados Tridents secured the services of Gudakesh Motie, ending the spinner’s five-year stint with the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

The Tridents also re-drafted Sherfane Rutherford and used Right to Match Options to retain Brandon King, Kadeem Alleyne, Rivaldo Clarke, Johann Layne and Kofi James.

Defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders retained a strong core after using RMOs to re-sign Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Akeal Hosein and Terrance Hinds.

The Knight Riders also added Barbadians Justin Greaves and Dominic Drakes, while Jyd Goolie will represent his home franchise for the first time.

The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots drafted CPL all-time leading run scorer Johnson Charles and retained veteran batter Andre Fletcher through an RMO.

The Patriots also brought back Jason Holder and signed Kevin Wickham and Obed McCoy for the first time.

The Amazon Warriors retained several key players including Shimron Hetmyer, Romario Shepherd, Shai Hope and Shamar Joseph.

The franchise replaced Motie with left-arm spinner Khary Pierre and added several Guyanese players including Ronaldo Alimohamed, Veerasammy Permaul, Mavendra Dindyal and Jonathan van Lange.

The Jamaica Kingsmen added experienced T20 players Rovman Powell and Andre Russell, alongside Odean Smith, Vitel Lawes, Jeavor Royal and Kirk McKenzie.

The Antigua & Barbuda Falcons strengthened their squad with the signing of Alzarri Joseph following his five-season spell with the Saint Lucia Kings.

The Falcons also secured Evin Lewis and retained Fabian Allen, Jayden Seales and Amir Jangoo.

Meanwhile, the Saint Lucia Kings retained captain Roston Chase, Matthew Forde and Keon Gaston, while adding exciting Antiguan batter Jewel Andrew and Trinidadian batter Kamil Pooran.
