A fire

Two women were found dead after a fire tore through a building in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on Friday night.

The victims were identified as 23-year-old Aaliyah Griffith and 60-year-old Susan Ramlogan, according to reports.

The blaze began around 9:30 pm at an apartment in the Coehlo Building, located at the corner of Prince Street and Charlotte Street in the capital. The building has a mixture of apartments and commercial spaces.

Fire officers who responded to the scene assisted in rescuing people trapped inside the building. 

The bodies of the two women were discovered on Saturday morning when firefighters returned to the scene.

Reports indicate that one woman was found in a bathroom and the other in a bedroom.

Investigations are continuing into the cause of the blaze and the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
