Anguillian airline Trans Anguilla Airways has taken a major step toward expanding its regional and international reach after becoming available on the Global Distribution System (GDS) platform.

The move allows travel agents, tour operators and travellers worldwide to access and book the airline’s services more easily, increasing its visibility in global travel networks.

The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) welcomed the development, describing it as an important milestone for the locally owned and operated airline and a boost for connectivity across the Caribbean.

Founded in Anguilla, Trans Anguilla Airways has built its network by providing charter and scheduled flights connecting the island with destinations across the Eastern Caribbean, including St Maarten, Tortola, St Barthélemy, Antigua, St Kitts, Nevis, St Eustatius, Montserrat and Dominica.

Director of Tourism Jameel Rochester said the airline’s expansion represents a positive development not only for aviation but also for Anguilla’s tourism sector.

“The Anguilla Tourist Board is extremely pleased to see Trans Anguilla Airways reach this important milestone,” Rochester said.

“Enhanced visibility through the GDS platform creates greater accessibility for travellers and strengthens regional connectivity, which remains a critical component of sustainable tourism development.”

He also praised Managing Director Vernol Gumbs and the Trans Anguilla Airways team for their investment and commitment to growing regional air links.

Gumbs said the achievement reflects years of work and a commitment to expanding the airline’s presence.

“Being live on the GDS platform allows us to significantly expand our reach and provide greater convenience for travellers and travel professionals alike,” he said.

He added that the airline remains focused on improving its services, growing its network and building partnerships across the region.

The ATB said improved transportation links remain critical as Anguilla continues to strengthen its position as a leading Caribbean tourism destination, with better regional access seen as key to supporting both visitor growth and economic development.
