Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness arrived in Guyana on Thursday for a two-day official visit focused on strengthening ties between the two Caribbean countries.
Holness was welcomed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport by Guyana’s Prime Minister Mark Phillips.
He is expected to meet with President Irfaan Ali and other officials during the visit.
The Jamaican delegation includes Foreign Affairs Minister Kamina Johnson Smith and Industry Minister Aubyn Hill.
The trip follows Holness’ attendance at the Suriname Energy, Oil and Gas Summit and Exhibition, where regional leaders and energy stakeholders discussed opportunities for investment and cooperation in the sector.
In Guyana, discussions are expected to focus on areas including agriculture, energy and broader regional issues.
Holness is also set to attend the opening of the International Building Expo 2026.
