A soldier has been dishonourably discharged from the St Kitts and Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) after being found guilty of two military offences following disciplinary proceedings.

The SKNDF announced that Private Cordel Lake was dismissed from the Force with immediate effect on July 16, 2026, after a summary trial under the St. Christopher and Nevis Defence Force Act.

According to the Defence Force, the charges stemmed from a serious incident that occurred on March 30, 2026.

Private Lake was found guilty of conduct prejudicial to military discipline and disgraceful conduct following what the SKNDF described as a thorough investigation.

The Defence Force said the decision to dishonourably discharge the soldier was made under Section 30 of the Defence Force Act after “overwhelming evidence” was presented during the trial.

While the SKNDF did not disclose details of the incident that led to the charges, it said it maintains a zero-tolerance approach to conduct that undermines discipline, safety and the integrity of the organisation.

“The SKNDF remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and care for all personnel,” the statement said.
