Wang Zyuan, the visitor who had been missing on the Mount Liamuiga trail since May 27, has been found dead, according to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

Police said Wang’s body was discovered on Monday, June 1, by one of the search teams involved in the multi-day operation on the mountain in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Since Wang was reported missing, joint teams from the police force, the St Kitts-Nevis Defence Force, the St Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services, the Police Training School, the Forest Unit, the Red Cross, the Ross University K9 Unit and community volunteers had been conducting daily searches across the area.

Authorities said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing and detailed information was not yet available.

In a statement, the police force expressed condolences to Wang’s family, friends and associates and thanked everyone who assisted in the search effort.

Officials also urged the public to avoid speculation and rely on official sources for updates as investigations continue.
