Gun violence has claimed a second life in the British Virgin Islands this year after a man was shot dead in the Brewers Bay area on Tuesday.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said officers responded to reports of gunfire and found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released the victim’s identity or disclosed a motive for the killing.

They have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit or Crime Stoppers.

The killing comes just weeks after 26-year-old K’moi Walters became the territory’s first murder victim of 2026.

Walters, a Huntums Ghut resident and Republic Bank employee, died after being shot on July 6.

He was taken to the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
